I grew up in Alaska, Alaska is very big in to sports and there isnt much of anything else to do. you will quickly realize how homogenous those schools are for the most part; outside of meeting people from a wide range of backgrounds, I've always liked that VCU has tons of ethnic and cultural clubs with different events, other schools probably don't have that near the level of VCU. VCU is a great environment for those who would want to step out of their comfort zone. Take your twenties to figure out what you want to do. People think that VCU is a slacker school.

Really, I would only recommend VCU if you wanted to be an engineer (behind Tech and UVA) or you really want to go to med school and want to try the guranteed med school admittance other than that most schools in VA are better than VCU.
